China Telecom And Huawei Complete The First 50G PON Industrial Internet Pilot
Apr 12, 2023| China Telecom Research Institute and Suzhou Telecom responded to customer demands in the first time, and cooperated with Huawei to deploy a fiber-based 50G PON dual-mode network in the optical device processing workshop of Yongding Optoelectronics as a new generation of industrial Internet all-optical base. 50G PON is an ITU- The next-generation PON standard defined by T has the capabilities of ultra-high bandwidth and low latency. As an all-optical base, it can take advantage of the PON P2MP architecture. It is an all-optical solution that is easier to deploy and manage, more cost-effective, and more energy-saving. 50G PON dual-mode refers to the simultaneous provision of 50G PON and 10G PON access capabilities in the same optical fiber ODN (Optical Distribution Network, Optical Distribution Network). Among them, 50G PON provides a stable bandwidth of more than 10Gbps for each quality inspection point. One PON port can support concurrent inspection access of three production lines, and industrial camera images can be transmitted to the background in real time for review and archiving; 10G PON is an auxiliary The monitoring and management camera provides an independent upload channel, and the background server can automatically judge the non-compliance behavior of employees according to the video content, and issue an alarm in time. This pilot project verified that the 50G PON dual-mode all-optical network can be flexibly compatible with different network technology solutions. In subsequent network upgrades, existing ODN resources can be reused to achieve zero line construction and smooth evolution. Li Xin, general manager of Eternal Optoelectronics, said that after the deployment of AOI quality inspection, the inspection and audit will be faster and more convenient; the use of the database can optimize the production process and lay a good foundation for the subsequent automatic inspection based on artificial intelligence. The workshop auxiliary monitoring and management system can regulate employees' work and provide digital escort for employees' personal safety and factory production safety.
This time, China Telecom, Yongding Optoelectronics, and Huawei successfully presented the new capabilities brought by the digital industrial technology based on 50G PON 10 Gigabit all-optical technology to the upgrading of the manufacturing industry, and provided a model for the development direction of all-optical digital factories. The all-optical network integration and empowerment capabilities formed by "10 Gigabit all-optical + industry applications + industrial collaboration" will give birth to new formats, new models, and new industries, helping to release new momentum for the digital economy. In response to the industrial needs of the Industrial Internet, China Telecom will continue to leverage its advantages in network construction and technology application, continue to cooperate closely with the industry, actively promote the application of 50G PON in various industries, and contribute to the construction of new digital infrastructure.
