What is an optical fiber sensor?

Optical fiber sensor An optical fiber sensor is a sensor that converts the state of an object to a measurable optical signal. The working principle of the optical fiber sensor is to send the light beam incident by the light source to the modulator through the optical fiber, and interact with the external measured parameters in the modulator to change the optical properties of the light, such as light intensity, wavelength, frequency, phase, polarization state, etc., and become the modulated optical signal, and then send it to the photoelectric device through the optical fiber, and obtain the measured parameters after the demodulator.

In the whole process, the light beam is introduced through the optical fiber, and then emitted through the modulator. The role of the optical fiber is to transmit the light beam first, and then to play the role of the light modulator.
