Principle of WDM(Wavelength division multiplexer): In the analog carrier communication system, the frequency division multiplexing method is usually used to improve the transmission capacity of the system and make full use of the bandwidth resources of the cable, that is, to transmit signals of several channels in the same cable at the same time. Each carrier frequency is different, and the signal of each channel can be filtered out by using a band-pass filter. Similarly, optical frequency division multiplexing can also be used in the optical fiber communication system to increase the transmission capacity of the system, and a demultiplexer (equivalent to an optical band-pass filter) is used at the receiving end to separate the optical carriers of each signal. Since the signal frequency difference is relatively large in the optical frequency domain, the wavelength is generally used to define the difference in frequency. This multiplexing method is called wavelength division multiplexing.

1. When the optical module is not in use, a dust cap must be installed to prevent dust from falling in and causing the optical module to be polluted.
